Why Don’t You?

That is my encouragement to you today.  Why don’t you join me in taking God at His Word?

JESUS looked at Jairus at the lowest moment of his life and commanded him, “Do not be afraid, only believe…”  Mark 5:36
Meditate on the following scriptures for a moment then I’m coming right back.

“Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable.   He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall,

But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.”    Isaiah 40:28-31

“Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday.  Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him;…”

“But the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; He is their strength in the time of trouble. 40 And the Lord shall help them and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked, And save them, Because they trust in Him.”   Psalm 37:4-7a, 39-40

How about that!  Now let’s reach out and take His Word.  It’s fresh bread just out of the oven.  Feed upon it and let it nourish your spirit until all you see is JESUS.  And the peace which surpasses all understanding will guard your heart and your mind through Christ.

JESUS is looking at you at this moment of your life and commanding you, “Do not be afraid, only believe…”  Mark 5:36  He has heard and seen everything you are facing today just like He heard Jairus’ servant tell him that his daughter had died. Only JESUS can hear news like that and say, “Do not be afraid.”

Your breakthrough is standing right next to you.  But remember the second part.  “Only Believe.”  That means focus on His Word and nothing else.  It is possible to believe God’s Word and something else.

Not this time.  Not here.  Not now.  Not in My House!!

Stand your ground!  Take what God says and completely refuse any alternative.  Command every storm and every obstacle to “Be Remvoved” and Stand Your Ground with the God-given authority you possess as a believer.

Take God at His Word and receive what you believe today!

Father Abraham believed God.  The God …

Who gives life to the dead and speaks of the nonexistent things that He has foretold and promised as if they already existed.

After waiting 25 years for God to fulfill His promise of a son with no result, Abraham’s human reason for hope was gone.  But he hoped in faith; still believing that he would become the father of many nations, as he had been promised, So numberless shall your descendants be…

Therefore, he did not weaken in faith when he considered the utter impotence of his own body, which was as good as dead because he was about a hundred years old.  Nor did he consider the barrenness of Sarah’s deadened womb.

This is exactly where the spiritual rubber meets the road.  Right here…surrounded by death, yet rejoicing in life!  This is what separates the “it is finished” people from the “we’ll see what happens” people; the “It’s done” believers from the “yeah, but” skeptics.  The doubters from the praisers!

It is the decision to stand your ground in the face of what (looks, seems) impossible.  It is eating your feast in front of your enemy!  Ps 23:5.  It’s rejoicing in the victory before you ever see it; because with God, it’s already done; you have it; you are there before you leave…

The decision we all need to make is in plain view. Will we decide to give the greater credit to what God said; to those eternally creative words spoken prophetically for us, long before this temporal and weak opposition ever arose?  Will we do it? Will we risk our life for a word?  But it’s not just a word, it is His Word?

Look at this…

Abraham did not allow any unbelief or distrust to make him waver (doubtingly question) concerning the promise of God.  He stopped feeding his doubts by looking at, considering and talking about his circumstances.

He decided to do something DIFFERENT!

Rather than believe (his eyes) and fear, he gave praise and glory to God right in front of all that seemed hopelessly impossible.  So, instead of growing in fear, he grew strong in faith and was empowered by faith to keep praising, until he and everything else around him was reborn.

When our circumstances become so infused with the original purpose of God’s decree, the manifestation is certain.  Just like when the angel stepped into Peter’s jail cell.  The natural realm became irrelevant.  The chains fell off his wrists, the guards were as non-existent, and the prison gate opened of its own accord.  God’s purpose overwhelmed it all!

Praise is proof of faith which is fully satisfied and assured that God is able and mighty to keep His word and do what He has promised.  All that was left for Abraham was the manifestation! And so surely, right on time, Isaac, the son of promise was born.

That is why Abraham’s faith was credited to him as righteousness (right standing with God).  But the words of “crediting” were written not just for Abraham alone; they were written for our sakes too, meaning you.  Righteousness is credited to all who believe and trust in God, Who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.

JESUS Christ Who was betrayed and put to death because of our misdeeds and was raised to secure our justification, our acquittal; balancing our sin account and absolving us from all guilt before God. Praise the Name of the Lord, forever!
